No operations are allowed outside of published hours except MEDEVAC. Right hand circuits runways 06, 08, & 15 (CAR 602.96).

Noise abatement

  • All jet aircraft (except MEDEVAC flights) and certain type of propeller aircraft are prohibited from utilizing the airport.  Pilots should check with the Airport Duty Manager at 416 203 6942 x17 prior to arrival. 
  • Pilots are requested to maintain 2000 ASL or above over Metropolitan Toronto Zoo (N43 49 05 W79 11 15). Avoid overflight of noise sensitive areas, see Toronto/City Centre VTPC for east VFR routing.

Training activity between Toronto/Buttonville Municipal & Oshawa airports. See Planning, Ontario, Hazards to aircraft operations, Claremont training area.


All arriving/departing aircraft to avoid flight over CNE/Ontario Place*. Frequent banner towing activity over CNE in fixed pattern 1500 ft. ASL and below. Vessels up to 120 ft. (366 ASL) in vicinity of final approach to all runways. Tall vessels may penetrate PAPI approach slope runway 08 & APAPI approach slope runway 26. DME/glidepath antenna 296 ft. ASL (45 AGL) at aerodrome*.
Do not overfly chimney (N43 38 45 W 79 19 59, 954 ft. ASL (700 ft. AGL) 2.6 NM from threshold runway 26) when using APAPI approach slope runway 26. Secondary ERS subject to availability of ferry operations. Flagpole 372 ft. ASL (121 ft. AGL) located 0.3 NM north of threshold runway 15 adjacent west of extended runway centreline. Wind turbine approximately 1 NM west of airport at CNE 584 ASL (323 AGL) N43 37 52 W79 25 29. Extensive bird activity on aerodrome.

Toronto Terminal Control Area - VFR Traffic

Clearance to operator within the Toronto Class C airspace will only be given to aircraft equipped with functioning transponder and mode C unless prior approval obtained from ATC 905-676-4509 (IFR aircraft) or 905-676-3589 (VFR aircraft). VFR traffic may be restricted from operating in the Toronto Class C TCA during periods of peak IFR traffic.
