Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport’s hours of operation are from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily.

Porter Airlines and Air Canada check-in counter hours of operation are from 5:30 AM to 11:00 PM daily. Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) security screening hours of operation are from 6:00 AM until the last flight of the day has departed. No airline or security staff will be onsite to assist you in your travel outside these hours.

Required Documents

All passengers flying in and out of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport are required to hold valid documents in order to board their flight and/or clear security.

Travel Within Canada

Before boarding, all passengers planning to travel on domestic flights within Canada are to be asked to present:

One piece of valid government-issued identification that includes a photograph and the passenger’s name, date of birth and gender;

OR

Two pieces of valid government-issued ID without photographs showing the passenger’s name, date of birth and gender;

Travel to Canada

All passengers entering Canada from the U.S. will be required to be in possession of a valid passport.

American citizens are required to be in possession of their American passport whilst U.S. Permanent Residents require a valid Green Card and a valid passport for entry to Canada.

Citizens of all other countries require a valid passport and should find out, before travelling, whether they require a temporary resident visa. In addition, travellers to Canada should consider whether they require a work permit, study permit or other immigration documentation in addition to the required identification documents.

Travel to the United States

Passengers taking U.S.-bound flights are required to hold a valid passport to check-in, clear security and board an aircraft. You will not be permitted to board a flight to the U.S. without a passport.

Passengers may be required to hold valid immigration documents before they are granted entry to the United States. Non-Canadian citizens should consider whether they require a visa. In addition, travellers to the United States should consider whether they require a work permit, study permit or other immigration documentation in addition to the required identification documents.

As of January 12, 2009, valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval is required for all Visa Waiver Program (VWP) citizens travelling to the United States. Provided through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), ESTA is a free, automated system used to determine the eligibility of visitors under the VWP for travel to the United States. ETSA collects the same information as the paper I-94W form that VWP travellers fill out en route to the United States. ESTA applications may be submitted at any time prior to travel. An ESTA authorization is generally valid for up to two years and is valid for multiple entries into the United States. Nexus

Let NEXUS take the hassle out of travelling. Travellers flying between Canada and the United States have the option of speeding up the security clearance process with a NEXUS card.

NEXUS is a pre-clearance partnership program between the Canada Border Services Agency and U.S. Customs and Border Protection for low-risk travellers that can reduce wait times at border crossings.

Travellers interested in applying to be a NEXUS member must do so through the Canada Border Services Agency. Once approved, they will be cleared for a 5-year membership card.
