Toronto (May 15, 2019) – Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (Billy Bishop Airport) will hold the third and final public meeting for its 2018 Master Plan on June 12, 2019, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building, in Room 701A. The meeting will include presentations, along with a facilitated question and answer session, which will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The intention of the meeting is to present the draft of the Master Plan and kick-off a 30-day comment period where stakeholders and members of the public can provide comment that will be contemplated and considered in finalizing the draft. The finalized Master Plan will be released following the comment period and is expected in late summer 2019.
The 2018 Master Plan for Billy Bishop Airport is an update of the 2012 Master Plan, which is available on the PortsToronto website. The planning process, which kicked off in late 2017, involved comprehensive public consultation and stakeholder engagement. To date, more than 70 meetings have been held with neighbourhood associations, agencies including First Nations leaders, elected officials, local businesses, airport stakeholders and community groups. The first public meeting was held on February 7, 2018, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, and the second public meeting was held on June 25, 2018 at the Westin Harbour Castle.
The meeting will be facilitated by members of LURA Consulting who will prepare a report that will be shared on the project website
http://www.billybishopairportmasterplan2018.com after the meeting. A copy of the Facilitation Report from the first and second public meetings are available on the project website.
