Toronto (April 20, 2015) – A final draft of the Environmental Assessment (EA) Study Design/Scope is now available on the project website (
BBTCArunwayandjetsEA.org/6-study-design) for a 30-day public review. The final draft EA Study Design/Scope, developed during Part One of the EA process, details the list of the effects that will be studied through the EA and the methodologies that will be used to study these effects.
Feedback provided during Part One of the EA process by members of the public, stakeholder organizations, agencies, and First Nation and Métis communities has helped inform the final draft EA Study Design/Scope. Participants have provided input through:
- Pre-Consultation Conversations;
- 4 Public Meetings;
- 4 Stakeholder Advisory Committee Meetings;
- 9 Agency Advisory Committee Meetings;
- Correspondence and meetings with First Nation and Métis communities; and,
- Written submissions provided by mail and email.
Summaries of feedback received are available on the project website under “Consultation Materials” (
BBTCArunwayandjetsEA.org).
Over the next 30 calendar days, members of the public, stakeholder organizations, agencies and First Nation and Métis communities can provide further suggested refinements to the draft EA Study Design/Scope.

PortsToronto will consider the further suggested refinements received and will then finalize the EA Study Design/Scope. Once it has been finalized, Part Two of the EA will commence, focusing on assessing potential impacts and proposing potential mitigation measures. Public, stakeholder, agency and First Nation and Métis communities engagement will continue during Part Two of the EA process.
