Toronto (April 4, 2019) – With repairs to the Ship Channel Bridge lifting system complete, full commercial marine use of the bridge has been restored for the 2019 shipping season.
However, roadway approaches to the Ship Channel Bridge will be undergoing additional repairs over the next several months, and it is anticipated that vehicle traffic will be reduced to a single lane on occasion to accommodate the repair work.
Further, it is expected that brief closures of the bridge to vehicular, foot and bicycle traffic will be necessary during the summer months to complete certain repairs. Anticipated closures will be scheduled overnight or on weekends to minimize impact on traffic flow in the area, and information will be communicated to the public as soon as dates have been scheduled, both through signage in the area and on our website and social media accounts.
