Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Named One of World’s Best Airports
Toronto (April 15, 2013) — Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (BBTCA) has been ranked as one of Canada’s and the world’s best airports to travel from. The Skytrax World Airport Awards awarded BBTCA the tenth Best Airport in the World in the Under 5 Million Passenger category. The Skytrax World Airport Awards are based solely on the 12 million passenger suyrveys collected at over 388 airports across the world. The survey evaluates the total passenger experience from arrival to departure from the airport.
“This prestigious international recognition further demonstrates the value of the BBTCA to the City of Toronto and the millions of travelers who have come to rely on operations for their business and leisure needs” said President and CEO of the Toronto Port Authority (TPA) Geoffrey Wilson.
The TPA, owner and operator of BBTCA, is building a state of the art pedestrian tunnel that, when completed in mid-2014, will link the popular Airport to the mainland. This project was launched in March 2012.
