OHM Floats into Summer 2011
The TPA today raised the curtain on the first stage of a major upgrade at the Outer Harbour Marina (OHM). Nearly 200 state-of the art floating docks have been installed at the Marina in the run-up to the summer boating season.
The new slips, which can accommodate 40-100 ft boats, feature longer fingers, wider main walks, new power pedestals, integrated waterhook up and dock boxes in addition to twin 30- and 50-amp shorepower fittings
“The new docks are just the first in a line of improvements slated for the marina. We’ve seen the marina’s popularity grow and the TPA is pleased to offer an even better level of service to the people whose boats call the Outer Harbour Marina Home,” said Geoffrey Wilson, TPA President and CEO.
The Marina’s increasing popularity saw a $1.2 million operating profit in 2010, a year which saw record numbers for the TPA.
As one of Ontario’s largest freshwater marinas, the OHM’s improvements will allow over 600 boaters improved water access. In addition to these improvements the OHM boasts a “5 Green Leaf Anchors” rating from the Ontario Marine Operators’ Association (OMOA); the highest ranking a marina can attain.
A number of other improvements are also in progress and work has begun on fuel dock improvements and new barbeque patios.
The OHM announced several other improvements in its spring newsletter
