PortsToronto Receives Gold Quill Award for Billy Bishop Airport 80th Anniversary Celebration

Toronto (June 17, 2020)  At the 2020 International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Gold Quill Awards held last night, PortsToronto was recognized with an award of merit in the Special and Experiential Events category for the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (Billy Bishop Airport) 80th anniversary celebration.

"PortsToronto is thrilled to be recognized by the International Association of Business Communicators in the Special and Experiential Events category for our celebration of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport’s 80th anniversary that was executed in 2019,” said Deborah Wilson, Vice-President, Communications and Public Affairs, PortsToronto. “While the months-long 80th anniversary celebration provided an opportunity to reflect on the many milestones of the past eight decades, it also represented the exciting culmination of many months of hard work, strategic planning and creative thinking on the part of our versatile communications team. This award is particularly meaningful at this time as the airport faces one of the greatest challenges in its history with the global pandemic and resulting aviation sector crisis. We look forward to returning the airport to success and will look back on this award, and the project that earned it, as a reminder of brighter days.”
