TPA Sponsors Harbourfront Summer

Toronto Port Authority to Sponsor

Harbourfront Centre’s Hot Spot Summer

Harbourfront Centre and the Toronto Port Authority (TPA) today announced a new partnership, that will see TPA become the lead summer partner for Harbourfront Centre’s Hot Spot Summer, that runs from the Victoria Day weekend through Thanksgiving at the Harbourfront Centre 10-acre central waterfront site.

Harbourfront Centre President Sonja Smits said, “We are extremely grateful for the support from the TPA, which is one of our important waterfront partners. This partnership will enable us to present one of the most dynamic summer seasons ever at Harbourfront Centre.”

“We are pleased to be able to support our neighbours in the waterfront community,” TPA Chairman Mark McQueen said. “There was an immediate need for funding, and we stepped in to help meet it. We hope that other businesses and individuals will follow the Toronto Port Authority’s lead and support Harbourfront Centre and its very popular activities which draw millions to Toronto’s waterfront every year.”

Hot Spot Summer at Harbourfront Centre features hundreds of events, most of which are free to the public. These range from festivals like Canada Day and the Hot & Spicy Food Festival to celebrations of cultural communities like Colombian Colours and Tirgan Iranian Festival. There will be something for everyone this summer – from outdoor film screenings, art exhibitions and dancing by the pier to canoeing/kayaking, international food and music concerts. Harbourfront Centre on Toronto’s waterfront is the place to be this summer.

Harbourfront Centre is an innovative cultural organization, a registered charity which provides internationally renowned programming in the arts, culture, education and recreation, all within a collection of distinctive venues on a 10-acre site in the heart of Toronto’s downtown waterfront.
