Noise Exposure Contour Reports for Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Now Available Online

Toronto (June 22, 2015) – The Noise Exposure Contour reports for Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, dating back to 2008, are now available online. The reports were commissioned by Transport Canada, and completed by an external consultant team, at the request of the City of Toronto and confirm that the airport is complaint with its Noise Exposure Forecast (“NEF”) as required under the Tripartite Agreement. The reports were commissioned for the period of 2008 to 2013 and confirm consistent adherence to the noise restrictions imposed on the airport.

“PortsToronto, the owner and operator of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, works very hard to ensure that we stay within our allowable noise threshold, as required under the Tripartite Agreement,” said Gene Cabral, Executive Vice President, PortsToronto and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. “We are continually introducing new measures to minimize the noise impact of the airport’s operations on the surrounding community. These reports commissioned by Transport Canada validate that Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport maintains and operates within strict noise contours.”
