Ship Channel Bridge Opens to Two-way Traffic May 19

Toronto (May 19, 2016) – Scheduled critical repairs on the Ship Channel Bridge have been completed, allowing two-way traffic to resume later today, May 19, 2016. PortsToronto is pleased that the bridge will be fully functional for the long weekend and leading into the busy summer season.

However, based on a report provided in late March by the bridge engineers, we believe that additional work will be required in the fall to reinforce the structure beneath the bridge.  At that time, it is expected the Ship Channel Bridge will return to one-way traffic until the work is completed.

PortsToronto will continue to provide the public with an update on the project in the fall when the scope of work is determined and timelines established.
