Billy Bishop Airport Mainland Turning Circle Closed May 23 and May 26-29

Toronto (May 22, 2015) – Please be advised that Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport’s mainland turning circle will be closed on May 23 and May 26 to 29 for final resurfacing in preparation for the completion of the airport’s new pedestrian tunnel opening in late spring 2015. During this time, vehicles dropping-off passengers will be redirected to flow off Eireann Quay, around the taxi corral and into a temporary drop-off zone, located where the shuttle bus currently stops. The shuttle bus route will be temporarily moved to follow the curb lane of Eireann Quay.

To ensure as little impact as possible on Billy Bishop Airport travellers, additional PortsToronto personnel will be on site at the airport to direct traffic and help ensure passengers get to their destination as quickly and efficiently as possible. Signage will also be placed at key points to assist passengers and ease traffic flow.
Once completed, the Billy Bishop Airport pedestrian tunnel will provide passengers with convenient, predictable and reliable access to the airport. Final phases of the tunnel’s construction are now underway, which include architectural finishes, the removal of the equipment and hoarding, and landscaping.

PortsToronto will make best efforts to minimize disruption and regrets any inconvenience the temporary traffic changes may cause. We thank you for your patience as final stages of the tunnel’s construction are completed and look forward to opening the tunnel for public use in late spring 2015.
