During the winter, ice may form within the harbour. Ice in the harbour of Toronto is never safe and the Harbour Master’s Office advises members of the public to stay safe and refrain from going on the ice. The ice in the harbour should not be walked or skated on.

In the event that a member of the public sees a stranded animal or a pet goes onto the ice they should call 911. Emergency Services will respond to the call and rescue the animal.
