Toronto (August 26, 2019) – Please be advised that the 70^th annual Canadian International Air Show (CIAS) will take place from Saturday, August 31 to Monday, September 2 between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., with a practice day held on Friday, August 30 between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
 
Although this year’s Air Show is based at Pearson International Airport, three participating civilian aircraft will be pre-positioned at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport prior to CIAS event time, and a Search-and-Rescue helicopter will be stationed on the seawall on the west side of the airport during the event, scheduled from August 31 to September 2. These aircraft will arrive and stage immediately prior to the show and will not remain at Billy Bishop Airport overnight.
 
CIAS organizers are sensitive to the residential communities surrounding Billy Bishop Airport and have mandated that all participating aircraft will arrive and depart the display area using flight paths pre-determined by the applicable regulatory agencies, while keeping safety of paramount consideration.
