PortsToronto and Toronto Police Services Marine Unit to hold Public Meeting on Vessel and Watercraft Noise Mitigation in Toronto Harbour on April 23  

Toronto (April 8, 2024) – PortsToronto and the Toronto Police Service Marine Unit (Marine Unit) will be hosting a virtual public meeting to discuss vessel and watercraft noise mitigation in the Toronto Harbour. The meeting will be held Tuesday, April 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Registration is required and details can be found below.
 
In 2023, PortsToronto and the Marine Unit were made aware of an increase in complaints to the City of Toronto from waterfront residents about noise from tour, charter and water taxi operators in the Toronto Harbour. At this public meeting, representatives from PortsToronto and the Marine Unit will provide an overview of regulations, licensing and enforcement of vessels in the Toronto Harbour, and provide methods for residents to report non-compliant vessels for investigation.
 
Note: Discussions at this meeting will be limited to marine vessel and watercraft noise in the Toronto Harbour as described above.
