Air Canada to Begin Service from Billy Bishop May 1

The Toronto Port Authority today announced that Air Canada and the City Centre Terminal Corporation (CCTC), which owns the terminal building at the popular Billy Bishop Airport, have reached an agreement on a terminal lease arrangement that will see Air Canada start operations by May 1, 2011.

The agreement was required for the Toronto Port Authority, which runs the airport, to finalise its operating agreement with Air Canada. Upon the completion of its terminal lease agreement, Air Canada finalized its operating agreement with the TPA.

“We are very pleased that these negotiations have been successful,” TPA CEO and President Geoff Wilson said “Opening the airport to new carriers is a key element of our long-term business plan, and can only serve the best interests of the passengers who love the easy access of our downtown airport.”
