Toronto (June 11, 2018) –At the 2018 International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Gold Quill Awards held earlier this month, PortsToronto was recognized with an award of merit in the Corporate Social Responsibility category for the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (Billy Bishop Airport) Noise Management Program.
“It is a true honour to receive this award from the International Association of Business Communicators and to be recognized for excellence in marketing and public relations in this category,” said Deborah Wilson, Vice-President, Communications and Public Affairs, PortsToronto. “The Noise Management Program at Billy Bishop Airport has its foundation in operational procedures and investments to mitigate the impact of noise on the surrounding community. But the program has at its core a communications imperative that includes public meetings, reporting and regular outreach to ensure that we remain in contact and in balance with the community. This award speaks to that efforts and of that we are particularly proud.”
The award is the second for the Noise Management Program which has also been recognized by Airport Council International in 2017 with an Environmental Achievement Award.
