Canadian International Air Show Notice of Harbour Closures

Please be advised that the Western Channel of the Toronto Harbour will be closed to marine traffic for the 2017 Canadian International Air Show. Aditionally, no watercraft will be allowed at Hanlan’s Point Beach during the Air Show.

CATSA Implements New Enhanced Screening for Electronics

Overnight deployment of navigational buoys

UPDATE: Due to weather-related delays, overnight buoy deployment will continue until Friday, May 5, 2017. Crews will be working overnight from 11:00 p.m. until approximately 6:00 a.m. to deploy navigational buoys around Toronto’s Harbour in preparation for the boating season.

Elevated water levels in the Toronto Harbour

Lake Ontario and the Toronto Harbour are currently experiencing high water levels, which may continue until mid-May or early June. These elevated water levels may lead to breakwaters being submerged in and around the Port of Toronto.

Ship Channel Bridge Closed March 10 to 12, 2017

The Ship Channel Bridge will be closed to all foot, bicycle and vehicle traffic from 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 10 to late Sunday night, March 12, in order to conduct important work on behalf of the City of Toronto needed to reinforce one of the bridge’s critical structural components.

2015 Noise Exposure Contour Report for Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Now Available Online

Toronto (January 30, 2017) – The 2015 Noise Exposure Contour Report for Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is now available online. The report was commissioned and released by Transport Canada last week and completed by an external consultant team at the request of the City of Toronto. The report, as with all previously commissioned reports dating back to 2008, confirms that the airport continues to operate within its strict Noise Exposure Forecast (“NEF”) as required under the Tripartite Agreement.
