Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (Billy Bishop Airport) will begin the process of updating its Master Plan.

Please be advised that there will be multiple road closures in proximity to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport due to the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on October 22.

Emergency vehicles and personnel will be on-site to participate in training exercise and the public may witness unusual activity as a result
 

Please be advised that from September 18 to September 22, the City of Toronto will be undertaking emergency repairs to a water main that is located directly in front of the entrance doors to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (on the city-side).

Please be advised that the Western Channel of the Toronto Harbour will be closed to marine traffic for the 2017 Canadian International Air Show. Aditionally, no watercraft will be allowed at Hanlan’s Point Beach during the Air Show.

The second year of construction activities for Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport's 3-year Airfield Rehabilitation Program will be complete this week.

Beginning July 19, 2017, the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) implemented enhanced screening at select Canadian airports, including Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, for passengers travelling to all destinations.

PortsToronto is reminding the public that swimming in the port and harbour of Toronto is only permitted in areas designated by the City of Toronto.

Please be advised that due to the Goodlife Fitness Toronto Marathon, the Billy Bishop Airport downtown shuttle stop will be temporarily relocated on Sunday, May 7 between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. 

UPDATE: Due to weather-related delays, overnight buoy deployment will continue until Friday, May 5, 2017. Crews will be working overnight from 11:00 p.m. until approximately 6:00 a.m. to deploy navigational buoys around Toronto’s Harbour in preparation for the boating season.

Please be advised that due to the Khalsa Day Parade on Sunday, April 30, there will be a temporary change to the shuttle bus stop location from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Lake Ontario and the Toronto Harbour are currently experiencing high water levels, which may continue until mid-May or early June. These elevated water levels may lead to breakwaters being submerged in and around the Port of Toronto.

As part of the ongoing three-year Airfield Rehabilitation Program, the public may notice airside construction activities at Billy Bishop Airport throughout the spring and summer months.

The Ship Channel Bridge will be closed to all foot, bicycle and vehicle traffic from 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 10 to late Sunday night, March 12, in order to conduct important work on behalf of the City of Toronto needed to reinforce one of the bridge’s critical structural components.

Effective April 27, 2017, NAV CANADA will implement changes to instrument procedures at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport including new arrivals and departure procedures for aircraft utilizing runways 08 and 26.

Toronto (January 30, 2017) – The 2015 Noise Exposure Contour Report for Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is now available online. The report was commissioned and released by Transport Canada last week and completed by an external consultant team at the request of the City of Toronto. The report, as with all previously commissioned reports dating back to 2008, confirms that the airport continues to operate within its strict Noise Exposure Forecast (“NEF”) as required under the Tripartite Agreement.

Pursuant to Section 51 of the Canada Marine Act, notice is given that the Port of Toronto will increase its fees by three per cent, effective March 31, 2017.

With the City of Toronto’s ferry service between Queen’s Quay and Ward’s Island suspended due to a planned service outage from January 21 to 22, 2017, PortsToronto will temporarily extend its Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport ferry service as a courtesy to residents of Toronto Island requiring transportation to and from the mainland.

In support of the City of Toronto’s ongoing maintenance to the island water treatment plant, PortsToronto will provide ferry service to City of Toronto tractor-trailers transporting materials to and from the island beginning January 16 through to the end of February 2017.
